Performance

• Both the new Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Audi Q5 come equipped with a similar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The Q5 gets slightly more horsepower, but both vehicles deliver 273 pounds-feet of torque.
• As you climb trim levels, however, the GLC lineup offers more powerful optional engines. The new Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 comes equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that delivers 385-horsepower. The comparable Q5 55 TFSI model uses the same engine as the base model, but it's paired with a plug-in hybrid system, producing a combined 362-horsepower.
• On the top tier GLC 63, you'll get a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 469-horsepower. The Q5 doesn't offer a comparable engine, and you'll instead have to upgrade to the SQ5 which falls short with 349-horsepower.
• The new GLC base model comes with standard rear-wheel drive, giving you a sporty and engaging driving experience, while all-wheel drive is also available throughout the lineup. The Audi Q5 only offers all-wheel drive.

Interior

• If you need ample cargo space to fit your golf bags, groceries, luggage, and more, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC offers more storage than the Audi Q5. The GLC offers 36.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, with up to 56.5 cubic feet of maximum cargo space with the back seats folded down. The Q5 offers 25.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, with up to 53.1 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.

Technology and Safety Features

• Both the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 base model and Audi Q5 base model come equipped with a standard infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GLC comes with a 10.25-inch standard touchscreen. The Audi Q5 comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display.
• The new GLC 300 base model also comes equipped with standard features you won't find in the Q5, including a self-parking system that will guide your vehicle in and out of the tightest spots without you having to do anything.
• Both vehicles come well-equipped with driver assist technology features to keep you safe and aware of your surroundings at all times, including features like pre-collision braking and blind-spot monitoring, providing you with more confidence behind the wheel.
